Michael Keane Director of Strategic Initiatives

Michael Keane is the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Stonegate Wealth Management. Michael brings more than 40 years’ experience, first, in the education field, then in management and leadership in financial services and management consulting.

He taught at the University of Delaware for four years and worked for the Ministry of Education in the Kingdom of Norway for nine years. After transitioning to the business world, Michael managed operations business units for Salomon Brothers Inc, a premier Wall Street firm, and Thomson McKinnon Securities, Inc.

Michael is a retirement coach and helps current and soon-to-be retirees make the most of the next stage of their lives. He also focuses on coaching business leaders looking to transform their organizations or identify the next role in their business lives.

At KPMG Consulting, American Management Systems, Inc. (now CGI), Watson Wyatt Worldwide (now Towers Watson), Arthur Andersen, and A.T. Kearney, Michael consulted for more than 40 global financial services organizations and their leaders in the US, Canada, the UK, and the Netherlands, on strategic planning, performance improvement, merger integration, and enterprise transformation.

As a dual citizen of the European Union (Republic of Ireland) and the United States, he often has the opportunity of working with clients in the EU. He is fluent in English, French, Norwegian, and Swedish.

Michael has degrees from Saint Peter’s University, Duke University, and Oslo University, Norway. He has a Certificate in Organizational Development/Change Management from Georgetown University and in Personal Financial Planning from DePaul University.

Michael and his wife Edie are transplants to Vermont, where they practice their strong beliefs about serving their local community and state through civic involvement.
